Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets
Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets

In Yellow shoes
I get the blues
As I walk the street with my plastic feet
With blue velvet trousers
Make me feel pink
There's a kind of stink about
Blue velvet trousers

In my paisley shirt
I look a jerk
And my turquoise waistcoat
is quite outta sight
But oh-oh my haircut look so rare
Vegetable man, Where Are You ?

So I Change my gear
And I bugger my knees
And I cover them up with the latest cut
My socks are all in a box
It does take long to find darn old socks
And The watch
My watch
Black watch
With a black face
And a date in a little hole

And all the lot is what I've got
It's what I wear
It's what you see
It must be me
It's what I am
Vegetable man

Ah ah ah
I've been looking all over the place
For a place for me
But it ain't anywhere
It just ain't anywhere

Vegetable man, Vegetable man, Vegetable man

He's the kind of fella you just gotta see
if you can
Vegetable man

What'll be to crunch in your sisters
She'll be scrubbing bubbles on all fours

Scream thy last scream old woman with a casket
Fling your arms madly old lady with a daughter
Flack chap chau fauses, mouses, houses
Flittin and hittin and fittin quack quack

Watching the telly till all hours big time
Fling your arms madly old lady with a daughter

Scream thy last scream old woman with a casket
Blam blam your pointers point your pointers
What'll be coming to crunch in your sisters
She'll be scrubbing bubbles on all fours

Scream thy last scream old woman with a casket

Seabirds

Pink Floyd 1969

Lyrics/Music: Waters

Album releases:
The Early Years (box)
Dramatis/ation

There is a lot confusion about this track. Waters composed a song called 'Seabirds' for 'More' (lyrics below). Part of the song was used in the film, but not included on the soundtrack release and the recording seem to be lost in the archives. However, this version (released on The Early Years) is an instrumental piece sounding like an alternative version of Quicksilver. A cover version was made by Langford and Kerr on the album 'Moving Soundtracks vol.1'.

Mighty waves come crashing down
The spray is lashing high into the eagle's eye
Shrieking as it cuts the devil wind
is calling sailors to the deep

But I can hear the sound of seabirds in my ear
Surf is high an' the sea is awash
An' a haze of candy floss, glitter and beads
Rock that we sat on and watched in the sun

That was hot to touch
And the sea was emerald green
I can hear the sound of seabirds in my ear
And I can see you smile

Surf comes rushing up the beach
Now will it reach the castle wall and will it fall
Catfish dappled silver flashing
Dogfish puffing bubbles in my deep

'The Man and the Journey' were one of Pink Floyd's early concept-shows performed the first time April 14, 1969 in Royal Festival Hall, London. The event was titled 'The Massed Gadgets Of Auximenes - More Furious Madness From Pink Floyd'. Both parts of the show contained of improvisations around different Floyd songs, many of them closely related to the soundtrach from the film More, which was written simultaniously.

A recording of the show was meant to be released, but cancelled because most of the material was already released in other versions. 'The Man and the Journey' was finally released on 'The Early Years'.
