Music and film producer
Boyd is born in USA, but worked as a producer in London in the sixties. He produced a few songs for Powerhouse - a short-lived cooperation between Eric Clapton, Paul Jones and Steve Winwood. He was the founder of UFO club in London and the first to get Pink Floyd into a recording studio. He produced their first single hit Arnold Layne. After the group became popular the record company made Norman Smith take over the producer's chair. Boyd continued producing and has worked with 10.000 Maniacs, Fairport Convention, John Cale, R.E.M. and is today head of his own Hannibal Records.
