Bootleg live albums

Official releases

In December 2021 Pink Floyd suddenly released a number of bootleg live recordings on streaming services including their own youtube channel. The releases were not officially commented by the management or any of the band members.

The concert recordings span the years from 1970 to 1972 and has been issued officially under the label ‘Pink Floyd Music Ltd’.

It is most likely that these "hidden" and temporary releases, has to do with protecting copyrights after 50 years. This could be a legal manuevre trying to prevent bootleggers to make money on the illegal recordings again). Most of the releases has poor audio quality and it appears that nothing have been done to improve them. However it can be of interest of fans to listen to how the different songs originally sounded -some of them before they were recorded in studio versions.

A few albumns with rare studio outtakes, radio recordings and demos has been released as well. It is likely that these recordings has also previously been released under bootleg labels.

All the releases seem to be removed again after a year, while new ones are added each December.
